Punta Gorda Public Library 424 West Henry Street

I make frequent stops at this neat suburban library in a quiet neighborhood.  Only a few blocks west of US 41 AKA Tamiami Trail.

Entrance faces east. Building is a bit small but has all you need for online work or leisure. There is no need for a library card to go online, as guest passes are available at the information desk, just grab one

A good place to hide from traffic or the hot Florida sun for a while.

Gilchrist Park in Punta Gorda FL

Long park along the Peace River where it flows into Charlotte Harbor. Angled just right for those beautiful Florida sunsets.

Features include tennis court and fishing pier, several benches to rest in, a gazebo by the shore where musicians perform. Covered picnic area by restrooms a great idea. Seems to be the town gathering place, pleasant people who say hello as they pass you.

Impressive Ponce de Leon monument, he supposedly anchored along here in 1513 and met hostile Calusa tribe.
