Dropped in recently about lunchtime, nearly half full. The counter is directly in front of you as you walk in. A waitress-cashier was talking to a customer seated along the counter, but told me to sit anywhere.
Picked one of the three tables to the left of the counter, she quickly comes over and asks what to drink, coffee please. Would you like the breakfast or the lunch menu? Breakfast. A minute later she returns, do you need a minute? I’ll have a ham omelet with home fries and rye toast, $5.50 on the menu.
Another waitress brings my order in less than five minutes, a large omelet and chunky potato cubes that was quite filling. Coffee reloaded twice, once more would have been nice but not complaining after checking the bill and noticing 39 cents for coffee. Senior citizen discount?
Many older faithful customers it appears. Walls adorned with historic pictures of nautical themes. Did not sit at the larger dining hall on the right side. A pleasant family diner where everyone feels welcome at 7815 38th Avenue North, enjoyed it.
Discovered this gem while walking around Downtown Fort Myers. Excellent service by pleasant ladies. Television overhead while sitting in huge lounge chairs or choose a table along the walls. Ordered iced green tea and oatmeal with bananas and cream plus a bagel with cream cheese, nine bucks total.
Iced green tea in a glass jar with handle, then rest of order appears in a few minutes. Huge paintings for sale by local artists adorn walls, plus vertical glass and wood case containing antiques on one wall. People reading books or on their laptop welcome.
Directly across from government building and next door to antique shop. Street parking only in this walker-friendly area of narrow streets. One of the nicest restaurant I have found, will be back.
Stopped for lunch recently, a pleasant friendly place where they tell you to sit anywhere. Ordered a tuna sandwich with french fries, and got so many fries I could not eat them all.
Tasty dish appeared in less than five minutes.
Only two people there when I arrived, then a few more came in. The lunch rush was over by then. Next door to the Fort Myers Public Library courtyard, right downtown so really convenient. On the ground floor of an office building with only street parking.
Will probably be back
