Restoring the old YMCA Building

Our local television station is reporting that there are two buyers lined up for the old YMCA building in Downtown St Petersburg Florida. Shut down in 2001, this Mediterranean Revival building went up in 1926 and offers a beautiful courtyard and other unique features.

A former football player turned developer is interested, but his offer is second in line to a local music promoter who claims he has lined up over a million bucks in financing to purchase this unique historic structure only about three blocks from the downtown waterfront. It could be converted into a mixed use office-retail-housing. Glad to see this.
