I had parked along the lake just past the park before, but it was last Thursday that I really discovered this long stretch of paradise. There is a small marina at one end, then a fishing pier, a small lighthouse at a peninsula, and that’s just along the shore.
At least six shelters with ceiling fans can be reserved for any gathering, plus there’s a community house and a cafe offering pizza, refreshments and other goodies.
Several signs along the shore warn of snakes and alligators, and sure enough one had his head above water and stared at me for a few minutes before submerging. Fantastic idea that they have several lawn chairs along the shore available to all. Money well-spent here.
