Had a ham omelet with home fries and rye plus coffee this morning. Had not been here in years. Only three other customers when I walked in about 830, maybe the rush was over. Order at the counter and they will bring it to you, get your own coffee, napkins and utensils.
Plate arrived in less than five minutes by the same cashier man. No jelly or ketchup at the table? Not good. Only the salt and pepper shakers plus Louisiana hot sauce. If the stiff toast was ever buttered it was so minimal I was not sure. A layer of melted Swiss cheese over the omelet, now that’s different yet tasted good.
Hanging lamps over every table, walls covered with Tampa Bay Rays t-shirts and posters plus vintage pictures. Wood floors and tables give a welcoming Old Florida feel. You can refill your coffee cup whenever you want, and at $1.50 quite reasonable. The hearty ham omelet and home fries at $6.00 was not bad either. This old downtown landmark has been here for many years, they know what they are doing. Pleasant outdoor seating under awning
